Championship Showdown III.

More fireworks around the olympic tourch are going off so much most fans cannot even hear the monster trucks engine but now as the last few fireworks goes off you can hear 16 engines and here they come! Over 90,000 fans goes crazy as Bigfoot lead a line of 15 other trucks enter the coliseum! Flashbulbs are going off around the coliseum and the trucks all make there way down to the coliseum floor and the energy here is amazing! This is the biggest night of racing this season and everybody knows it and we are excited to be here as well and for you for watching todays coverage! As the teams all get in to their pit area lets take a look at the track map provided by over head shots from the blimp flying above tonight. 
As you can see the drag area where the start is and the center two lanes where the blue cars are have been used for the horse shoe track which the Hall of Fame and Pre Showdown race used. Tonight instead of a drag. The trucks will pull a sled from the start line (green) to the white line. Then once un-hooked and the PTC official waves the flag that the truck is clear to go. They will race to the turn and turn to the lane with the two sets of car. The green set was just added for this event. After the two sets of cars they then will turn to the lane that features a car then two buses, and a pyramid of 16 cars which most plan to simply jump over. Then turn back to the lane with two set of cars and cross the finish line (red) and everyone hope is to advance in the next round of the Championship Showdown. It is now time to start the first round of Championship Showdown III! ROUND 1.  Phil Bellavia in Distrubing The Peace won the first Championship Showdown and he won the pole yesterday. He will face rookie Glen Milburn who won a race this season and is in the showdown with his brother Robbie. The two of them both really want to make it out of the first round but history shows pole usually is the best situation. Now both of them getting hooked on to the sled they must pull. Emaxx is ready and now D.T.P. is ready awaiting the green light to come on and they're off! Phil slightly gets the front wheels up in the air when he went off but he has a lead over Glen its DTP over Emaxx and now DTP is at the line he is un hooking and so to now is Emaxx as he comes to the line to un hook. DTP is now off he is heading to the turn and Glen is off as well and now DTP over the first set and makes his way to the second set and Glen trying to catch up to his teammate. Now D.T.P. is making the turn and heading to the school bus jump and he is flooring it he isnt letting up and he sails over the school bus and the coliseum was filled with camera flashes when he did now Emaxx the same he clears the buses and more camera flashes goes off! Both of them great air and now Phil still leads he is out of the last turn he is making his way to the finish line Phil in Disturbing the Peace will advance to round two of CSIII.  
Now this is the race everone knows this could decide the points. If Juan Perez wins this, the Championship is locked no matter what happens. But if David Markunas wins and the trucks that got 15 through 9th in time trials advances in to the second roun, then Super Trooper must get second or first to win the Championship. Son of Sam is one of seven trucks tonight that hasn't won a race this season. David in Krypt Keeper has a win and is the highest truck in the points with a win at fourth currently. Green is out both of them are off David pulling the sled little faster then Son of Sam. Now they are un hooking now as it is Son of Sam against Krypt Keeper Keeper now Sam are off! This is going to be close as they make way to the two sets of cars handling will be an issue at this point as both of them over the first set now the second set and they are now Even Son of Sam has made this a close one all the way they now making the last turn and Son of Sam great turn he has a small lead as both of them clear the buses! The fans love the bus jump as camera flashes goes off around the entire stadium now the final turn Son of Sam another great turn but Keeper still has a shot. Son of Sam over the first set of cars now Keeper off the set of cars Son of Sam over the second set of cars and Son of Sam wins its! Son of Sam has won this heat and has locked the championship. looking in the pit area we see Ellis Racing team celebrating and Chad from Super Trooper and several other making way to shake their hand and congradulate them.  
This race should be a good one. Jon Kowalski the lone Bite Me Racing Team truck here tonight. Looking to get owner Colby Marshall another win. He faces a tough truck he faces Liberty One. Liberty One has three wins this season and is coming off two wins in a row and wants to make history and win three in a row and do it by winning the Championship Showdown green! Purple Haze out as the sled drags behind him and Liberty One a little bit more slow in the sled pull. Now Purple Haze is at the line and is un hooking and now Liberty One is. Purple Haze is out with the lead now Russ is out and going to try his best to make up the lost time. The two trucks thunder out of the turn and on to the cars crushing and flying over the cars as they come out of the straight away it is still Purple Haze over Liberty One. Now over tehe bus the fans are waiting and more camera pictures as Purple Haze now Liberty One jump over the cars and the fans love that jump! Now the final turn Liberty One going to give it his all he closing the distance now Haze on it its Libery One and Purple Haze for the win...and Purple Haze holds off a hard charging Liberty One for the win.   Cody Boyce from Boyce Family Team has two wins this season and the team has had all their trucks made it to the finals during the season. Meanwhile USA-1 had a rough start but now is contending for second place, but a poor time trial run has put USA-1 15th. Also USA-1 will be looking for a driver next season. They are lined up green is out and both trucks are off Cody Boyce with the lead in Sarge now he comes to the line to un hook and so to now does USA-1. Cody is now off and away and USA-1 is now off to and now both of them in the turn area Sarge coming out of the turn and USA-1 still in the turn but is now out and Cody is now over the second set of cars. Sarge as a great size lead over USA-1 as Cody now clears the school bus jump and makes his way to the final turn and USA-1 now approaching the school bus jump and Cody Boyce is going to win and advance to round to in Sarge.  
Two great looking trucks now race each other. Blitzkrieg against Insanity. Both of them have a win and both want to get a second win and green! Both trucks are off and Insanity front wheels way up in the air for a while but he has all four back down but Blitzkrieg has a lead and now he comes to un hook and now Insanity is up to the un hook line. Now Insanity is off and now Blitz is out and Insanity has a good lead over him. Now the cars Insanity making it over the second set as Blitz approaches the second set of cars and now Insanity is approaching the bus jump! Over the bus and a turn to the finish. Now Blitz is over the bus and Insanity is going to advacne to round two.   Chad LeGeyt, driver and owner of Super Trooper. He still wants to prove a point tonight and go for the win. Michael Grossman in Cooper Head Slinger has had a very consistent run all season long but wants to get that first win badly. Green and both are off! Chad with the lead as he pulls the sled in quick time that might be one of the best pulls all night he is now un hooking as Grossman comes to the line to un hook and now Chad is coming out of the turn approaching the first set of cars and Grossman is now out and he is on it! Super Trooper is now over the second set of cars and coming to the turn and Grossman nearly out of control over the first now second set trying to catch up he has the crowd all worked up! Super Trooper now coming to the buses and clears them and now Grossman comes to the bus he is catching up and it might be too late but he gets major air! Cooper Head Slinger didn't let out of the gas one bit when coming to the buses lands hard and the fans are going crazy! He is putting on a show and Super Trooper now crosses the finish line and Cooper Head still on it! He is putting on something for the fans to talk about and now he crosses the finish line and the left backbed of the pic up truck has fallen off from the landing. What a race he put on. Probably figure he had too much to try and catch up and he put on a great run.   Well now Bigfoot rolls out. Bigfoot of course a favorite for many tonight. Last race Johnny will do with Bob Chandler team. MTC.com is here to race and that is what Bigfoot is here to do as well and race. Green is out both of them off MTC with a great lead over Bigfoot as MTC comes to the line to un hook and now Bigfoot is at the line. MTC now Bigfoot are off and this race should be pretty close as we see David lead Johnny by some as he exit the turn and makes way to the cars and so to does Bigfoot. Now they have both made it through the two sets of cars and Bigfoot still trying to get ahead of MTC.com and move on MTC.com is putting on a great run and now both of them over the bus and flash bulbs everywhere the fans love this and what a great picture that would be of Bigfoot and MTC.com near even flying high over the buses. Now the final turn MTC.com with the lead Bigfoot not far behind over the first set Bigfoot still there he going to need a great jump and no MTC.com wins and advances in to the next round of racing. What a great race between the two and as the two park in the pit the fans on their feeting cheering them on for the great race.   Now Ryan Roberts looking to win another event this season takes on Robbie Milburn. Green is out both trucks are off Roberts with the lead as he comes to un hook now Radio Active is un hooking. Roberts is off and now Radio Active is off and he is going to make Off The Wall work for this one cause Robbie has been one of the most consistent teams of everyone as they both make it pass the two sets and now come to the school bus jump both of them gunning it both of them in the air Roberts lost a wheel! Off The Wall lost a wheel when he landed and the truck is at a stop now this means Radio Active will win and he has stop as PTC uses the RII on both trucks in the event of an on track incident. Man on man, Ryan when he jumped the bus some odd reason the truck front end was coming down really fast and he landed on the front wheels hard and the right front broke off and thanks to the tire theather it didn't go far. Tough break for Ryan Roberts and remember last season he won this event against Insanity after he and Insanity in the PTC Open in the first heat and Ryan in then High Tech Redneck flipped. So Ryan more bad luck and Robbie will advance to round two. That is round one of racing, now as we break for round two it is time to announce the winner of the Jeff Dane Awesome Truck Award and we listen in to the
presentation. Matt who is here with his teammate truck Copper Head Slinger walks out and accepts the Jeff Dane Award. Between the next two rounds will be the Rod Litzau award and as the sun sets here in Los Angeles the coliseum lights kick on as we begin round two of racing.  Season III Jeff Dane Award Winner. Matt Grossman's Takin' Chances.ROUND 2.A race featuring two trucks that have yet to win this season. Tonight only one can but the other one has a championship and is waiting till the end of the event to recieve it. Green is out Phil and Juan are off DTP has a good size lead over Son of Sam. Now both of them getting ready to go without the sled and both of them again off still with Phil maintaining a lead over Juan and now they come over the first set of cars still Phil with the lead Juan a few extra bounces but on it and now the second set its Phil and now Juan over the cars as both of them approach the buses. Both of them sky over the buses and approach the final turn Phil looking to knock off Son of Sam and now they are turning both of them Son of Sam is still behind and DTP Phil will advance to the final four of CSIII!
Green is out both trucks are off pulling the sled Purple Haze with a small lead over Sarge now both of them at the line to un hook. Sarge now off and now Purple Haze Sarge with the lead! Both of them working they way over the cars and over the second set Sarge still with the lead and looks to be growing the lead he has over Purple Haze. Now over the bus Sarge great air now Purple Haze and it looks like Cody is going to try and upset Purple Haze. Cody off the first set of cars Jon now getting on the first set of cars and Sarge is goign to advance in to the next round.
This is going to be a good race. Insanity ith Michael Elmendor against Chad leGeyt in Super Trooper. This will be close green is out they both are even pulling the sled now both of them at the line who takes off first? Super Trooper now Insanity are off both of them heading to the turn oth of them now in the turn still small lead for Super Trooper! Both of them worknig there ways across the cars and now they both make the turn to aproach the buses. Both of them great air and now all is left is the cars. They are both making the turn over the first car Insanity leads but here comes Super Trooper over the second cars Trooper now finish line Super Trooper just holds off Insanity. What a race the lead between the two changed over the second from last jump. Both trucks now waiting for the light to turn green it does and they are off! Winner makes it to the final four of CSIII. David now Robbie are stopping to get un hook and David is off and now Robbie is un hook and is moving. Both trucks are coming over the cars and still David with the lead and Robbie trying to make up time. Now they come to the bus still all David and Robbie is gonig to need help to advance. Robbie extending the lead and Robbie advancing to the final four.  Well now the sun is most of the way down as we look from the view the blimp has of tonights event. Lets go trackside for the presentation of
the Rod Litzau Rookie Award.  Jordon Robson, Rod Litzau Rookie Award Winner.FINAL FOUR.Phil looking to advance to the next round and win his second Championship Showdown. Phil looking to make it in his third final round this season. Green is out and they are under way with Cody with a surprise lead over Phil! Sarge was 5th quickest in time trials and now he is getting ready to go without the sled here comes DTP and Sarge is under way and Sarge looknig to pull a big upset! Sarge now exiting the turn DTP entering the turn everone is standing this could be a big upset here at CSII and now Sarge is heading towards the buses. He clears them and now he is a turn and two sets of cars away from going to the final round and now DTP is heading towards the buses. Here comes Sarge over the second set of cars and Sarge has won and is advancing to the final round of CSIII! Well now Super Trooper takes on MTC.com green is out they are pulling the sled! They look even no advantage either truck but now problems for MTC.com he is smoking and both trucks come to a stop. RII has been used and something is wrong with MTC.com he is smoking from the engine and look under the truck we can see a streak of oil going back from where he was pulling the sled. Tough break for MTC.com and Super Trooper is going to advance to the final round. Well now it is time to announce the attendance here at Championship Showdown III and it was know that there was a new record here for the largest attendance at a monster truck event and here is the total. 91,673 have packed the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum! Fireworks goes off as the fans cheer once the announcement was made and now it is time to see who wins the Championship Showdown. FINAL ROUND.Well now the last race of the season. Season III has been a great season and Cody against Chad. Cody wants to win his third race this season and Chad wants to win. In fact had Son of Sam not advance in to the first round the point total would be really close between Super Trooper and Son of Sam. Green is out one last time they are both even as they pull the sled both of them now un hooking! Both of them off this race is going to be close the fans all 91,673 are standing this is going to be a classic they come out of the turn over the first set of cars Super Trooper leads now they over the second set Super Trooper still a small lead now they are making the turn this is it the bus jump expect a ton of flash bulb to go off up in the air both of them and ton of pictures taken and now Cody has made it even again they are even coming to the last turn both of them here they come even still! Over the first set still even! Now the last set this will be it who will win! Both of them up Sarge more forward momentum Super Trooper less air he is on the ground and Sarge lands and he crosses the line Sarge win! Sarge wins Championship Showdown III! Sarge wins a close one over Super Trooper and Sarge will go down in the record book as winning Championship Showdown III. Sarge is driving around near the wall and Cody is waving to all the fans and Super Trooper is doing the same. Chad has been good all year long and you know he will be a threat to win races and for the championship next season and now Son of Sam roars to life and the Chandler Cup winner comes out. All three trucks meeting at the center of the track and as other teams come out and some fans have started to come down to the ground. Cody shakes hands with Chad and they both congraulate each other and Juan and Josh comes and does the same and the fans go crazy. What a season and congradulations to all the teams that raced this season. Chad Super Trooper will be back next season for sure.
