Point Leader Interview.

Every season since season one, the point leader halfway through the season has sit down with PTC for an interview. This season the point leader is rooke Cat Candita. Cat is the driver of Blue Thunder II from Bite Me Racing which has one Chandler Cup with Ed in the Orange Dodge Special. Now with two wins in a row Cat hopes to be driver number two to deliver BMR their second cup.

We now welcome Cat Candita driver of Blue Thunder II. She is a former MTA champion, two time race winner, won two in a row, and leads rookies in the points and share the overall point lead for the National Championship. Welcome Cat Candita thanks for joining us.

My pleasure.

What's your take on the season so far. Was a slow start with the PTC Open, but you have improved each race weekend and now coming off two wins in a row what is the mood in the team and pit?

The Pit is Happy, I'm Happy....we're just doing the best we can do, even better if it's a win.

Bite Me Racing already has one championship, has the talk of a second championship and being the first team organization to win more then one Chandler Cup begun?

Right now we're just focused on doing the best we can.... a cup would be nice though.

Has the team focus changed from do well and learn at each event to now contend for the cup and be more consistent? How have your two teammates been helpful towards you?

hey've been consistent and we are always looking out for one another.

Who so you see as the biggest challenge out there? Is it all the Pman trucks, CRB, Misfit Motors, Boyce Family Racing, or the two single truck teams of Son of Sam and Mario's Grave Digger?

They are all challenges... I don't try to worry about it and just focus on myself.

This is PTC seventh season, three time the leader at this point of the season won the cup including Ed in the Orange Dodge Special. This is the second time a tie at mid point for the cup, and both of them ended up not winning the cup. Does historical patterns or history make you guys concern at all?

Not really, history means nothing to me.... we have a good team and a good truck... and we're just focused on doing our best.

No rookie driver in PTC, along with rookie team, has ever won the Chanlder Cup. Why you think that has been something no rookie has been able to do and how do you see yourself different from past rookies?

A rookie just doesn't have the experience or the know how to fix some things when there is a problem. It's a learning experience... I have experienced team mates... I think that is the difference. We're all willing to learn and help each other.

If you win the Chandler Cup, you be the first female to win the cup, most recently going to win the Rod Litzau Award, be the first rookie, and of course the possibility of the Jeff Dane Award and make BMR the first team to win two Chandler Cups, how does that feel and has it put any additional pressure on you?

We try not to worry about the pressure and just focus on how we are doing... it would be great to win the awards... we're just happy to do well.

Any sponsors or want to say something to the fans?

Thank you for all your support!

Thank you Cat and good luck at the All Star Event.

My pleasure.

A reminder folks tonight is the Truck Fest Challenge and then after the break the All Star Event. See you here tonight!

Well the second weekend of Pro Truck Challenge is done and what a weekend of racing. But next weekend is the first three day, one venue event weekend and already looking at the top five in points no surprise see at least one Pman truck, but fourth place Monster Energy Drink the rookie and Equalizer. The top 10 has lot of big names but anything can happen. Son of Sam, Orange Dodge are in the bottom of the pack but expect them to try to make way up top. Next week PTC is in Dallas at Cowboys Satdium for a three day weekend of racing!

Pro Truck News Update 02-16-2010.

Hello everyone and welcome to Week 2 of Pro Truck Challenge National Championship Series. This weekend PTC for the first time this season splits to three venues this Friday and Saturday. Friday group will run in San Diego and it will consist of the group two from the PTC Open. Group one will run Saturday noon at Oregon and then group three the winning group from the PTC Open will run at Rocky Mountain Raceway Saturday night. This weekend all points will be award and the points will be stagard as well in years past. So those in San Diego will get the usual point award, Oregon will get the points plus one additional point, and Rocky Mountain Raceway racers will get the points plus two additional points. So it is possible for Krypt Keeper to have 47 points by the weekend end and second place will have 31 points. However only one team has left the PTC Open and the second weekend with the point lead and that was Emaxx.

The talk through the PTC community all last week was Krypt Keeper third win in Phoenix. Now lot of teams are looking towards next season and being the first to beat Krypt Keeper in Phoenix. One team said "the three wins at Phoenix David earn is impressive; but now he has a bigger target on his back and everyone wants to brag to be the first to beat Krypt Keeper at David since he has won there three seasons in a row. Phoenix is the only track along with Rocky Mountain Raceway that returns to the PTC schedule every season. Also PTC is looking into making changes for the Phoenix track. Last weekend lot of teams cleared the cars and experience damage from the hard landing on the pavement. PTC event director Tyler Miller.

Every season we see the teams buld faster and lighter trucks for the racing. This season with the long off season since we decided to change the season schedule, we saw lot of new trucks that came out and all of them so close to each other. The new trucks were faster then we thought and we are looking at updating thet track for next season. Trucks are meant to be tested by the track design; but we don't want a handful of truck breaking parts because then that is too much. These team register for PTC because we are the best and we will prove this is the place to race. It is vey ironic that a week and a day later from the PTC Open the Daytona 500 had track issues."

Finally PTC announced the All Star Race has been renamed to Truck Fest. The reason is because the opening event for Truck Fest is open field and after this weekend event. All teams not in PTC and interested in registering for the Truck Fest Challenge will be allowed to register. A handful of trucks will make it from the Truck Fest Challenge to the Truck Fest All Star. So the challenge may see a lot of trucks that don't normally run PTC. That is this week pre race news. Check out our facebook page and post on monster mayhem. See you Friday!

Pro Truck News Update 01-09-2010.

Pro Truck Challenge is proud to present an option to the point balance system. The new "vehicle setup mode" (VSM) will be a second option to PTC racers starting in season seven. The new VSM will work with the traditional 50 point balance system as well so no matter what system you're on you will be able to race anyone. The VSM is designed to allow those that want to have a more options on their truck performance. The VSM will not have any advantage or disadvantage from the 50 point balance. The truck design and driver's experience along with the teams performance will all factor in with VSM.

If interested in swithcing to the vehicle setup mode please contact here. There will be limites spots for VSM since this is the first season of trial.

Pro Truck News Update 12-27-2009.

The field for season seven is slowly taking shape as 48 teams will be racing at the PTC Open come 2010! Some of the stories so far creating buzz with the new field.

Son of Sam has a new driver. Jeremy Ellis will be behind the wheel of Son of Sam for season seven and the team now has coperate backing from Ford's Motorcraft line of products. Ryan Roberts, Shawn Hunsicker, Ed Kowalski, and Jesse Boyce all return for their seventh season in PTC. Jesse competed in the second half of season one and Ryan, Shwn, and Ed all were in it since the begining.

Jordon Robson and Mario Cernadas rivalry is bring talks of what is to come. The two got really into it in season seven with Jordon knocking off Mario in Championship Showdown and costing Mario the cup. The two havnt race each other during the off season or other promotors. But everyone is hopeful to see the two duke it out again.

Jessup has had lot of sucess in Blue Thunder and this season same team same driver new truck. But the big talk is the number they have #4. The #4 was sported by the Orange Dodge Special when it won the season two championship. A year later Son of Sam had the #4 and won the championship. #4 has produce two champions and #5 and #2 one champion each. So anyone in the top five can be looked at as a condenter but will #4 produce a third champion?

More teams to come inclduing the defending champion Chris in Bigfoot, Emaxx, and more. So keep visiting to see more updates.

Pro Truck News Update 12-25-2009.

The new site is just the start of changes here in Pro Truck Challenge. Welcome back to PTC and we are ready to get the next season champonship hunt! However; like every off season changes are made to the rule book and this is no doubt the same. But lot of these changes are big not only will if effect the racing but no doubt the championship and the vehicles we will be seeing coming soon. So here are some of the new rule changes for the next season

The first new change that will effect members in the point balance system. There will be two systems. One will be more detail then the other from shock setup to tire pressure. The other will be the traditional point system and the two of them will work together. Neither point system will have any advantage or disadvantage and it will still come to the team to decide how they set up their truck for the event. The new technical point balance will be released January.

Another change is the season format. PTC fans asked for a longer season and PTC has always been against the idea of a season with two many races. So instead every event is every other weekend. Allowing more teams times to anaylize their season and make changes during the season. There is one additional race so there are in total 11 events, 10 are point events, and the PTC Open is still the only one that award points to the winner only.

Finally the biggest change of all the rules on truck design. For years Pro Truck Challenge rule on truck design was simple. The vehicle must be an American made production vehicle and a truck, SUV, or van. Then PTC expanded to American made cars and soon foreign made trucks were allow. Well PTC decide to make a big step with the new rule.

Pro Truck Challenge wants to allow teams to advance their vehicles in technology. More technology in a sport equal more safety and better racing. Also the natural progression of motorsports is made with technology. Indy Cars, Formula 1, even NASCAR has seen technology change the cars, safety feature, and the racing. Now PTC wants to encourage this progression in monster trucks. So to allow this PTC has made the following change.

Teams are allow to create a vehicle with limited rules on the frame of the truck. The frame must be able to support the truck when upside down without any link breaking or bending more then 20 degrees. The engine must be mounted where if it was to blow no debris will fly out towards compedators and fans. Same for transmission and drive shaft related parts. All vehicles must have four tires and a fuel cell. The truck body is now unregulated and any design will be approved as long as it don't obscure the driver vision. All vehicles will be inspected by MTRA and PTC official prior to every event and following any accident. Before every run and after every run a visual inspection will be done by a PTC official and if needed a MTRA official if anything is found. The goal is to see new designs and new inovations in the monster trucks that will continue leading the sport to the future. All vehicles will no longer be listed by the make of the body but the engine provider.

We will see you at Phoenix International Raceway!
